Joshua Kelly

Joshua Kelly is a Partner in Freshfields’ public international law team and international arbitration practice in London.

He advises States, international organisations and private parties on inter-State disputes, maritime delimitation, the law of the sea, sovereign immunity and proceedings before international courts and tribunals. His experience includes matters before the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union. He has particular expertise in maritime boundaries, offshore resources and issues of State immunity, international human rights law and international criminal law.

Prior to joining Freshfields, Joshua served as a military lawyer in the Royal Australian Air Force, advising on international and public law issues. He is a Visiting Lecturer at King’s College London, where he teaches on maritime boundary and territorial disputes.
