Naomi Davey 

Naomi is a Legal Director in the FCDO leading on Defence & Security, Sanctions, and Treaties. She has worked for the UK Government since 2002, initially as a litigator; was posted to Iraq in 2004 as a justice adviser to the Coalition Provisional Authority; and spent four years as an advisory lawyer in HM Treasury before joining the Foreign Office in 2010. Naomi has done legal and policy roles at the FCDO, with a particular focus on national security, sanctions and international criminal justice.  She headed up the International Team at the AGO from 2019 – 2021, leading on international trade and national security.  She holds degrees from the University of Nottingham (English Studies), SOAS (Masters in International Studies and Diplomacy) and the University of Law (Postgraduate Diploma in Law). Naomi has been the National Security Community Social Mobility Champion since 2022. She sits as a Deputy High Court Judge in the Family Division of the High Court. Naomi has found being in a job-share for 12 years to be the secret to juggling two jobs and four children!
