Sally Langrish

Sally Langrish is Legal Adviser (Director General, Legal) at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, a role she has held since May 2022.

She joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Legal Directorate in 1995 and has extensive experience across international and EU law. Her career includes overseas postings to the UK’s Permanent Representation to the EU and the British Embassy in Brussels, as well as senior legal roles in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for International Trade, where she helped establish the UK’s independent trade policy following the EU Referendum.

A qualified barrister and graduate of University College London, Sally is a member of the FCDO’s Management Board and Executive Committee, and serves as board champion for Freedom of Religion and Belief.
