Ben Brzezicki
Legal Counsellor, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
Ben Brzezicki is a Legal Counsellor at the FCDO and head of the Legal Directorate’s Foreign Relations Team, responsible for Consular, Protocol and International Criminal Justice legal advice to the department. Ben trained to become a Solicitor at HM Revenue & Customs, before practising there as a litigator. He joined FCDO as an Assistant Legal Adviser in 2016 and has advised across a number of different areas, including international criminal justice, sanctions, defence exports, and national security work. Between 2020 and early 2024, Ben was seconded to the International Law and National Security team at the Attorney General’s Office, advising the Law Officers across the full range of international legal issues.
