OECD Secretariat
Jesse Eggert joined the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration at the OECD in 2021, where he oversees the development of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Amount A of Pillar One of the work to address the tax challenges arising from the digitalisation of the economy. He had previously served at the OECD from 2013 to 2016, during the original base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) project, leading the group’s work on the taxation of the digital economy and serving as the lead negotiator of the multilateral instrument (MLI) to implement BEPS-related tax treaty modifications. In between, Jesse served as a principal in the international tax group of KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice, focusing in particular on issues related to international and U.S. tax reform and on tax issues related to inbound investment in the United States. Previously, Jesse served as Associate International Tax Counsel at the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Tax Policy. In that role, he worked on a wide variety of U.S. international tax guidance, negotiated tax treaties, tax information exchange agreements, and FATCA intergovernmental agreements with a number of jurisdictions, and represented the United States before the OECD working parties on tax treaties and exchange of information.
